Lee and Lucy were married on what was forecast to be a rather unsettled day in early May at All Saints Church, with the reception at Lucy's parents beautiful home just a few minutes from the church. The day started out with glorious sunshine, a little bit of wind and a series of fantastic looking morning prep shots as Lucy got ready for the day ahead. Surrounded by her 'Bridesman', Bridesmaid and a few close friends and family, the air was full of laughter right up to the point when they left the church as man and wife, when the air was full of golf ball sized drops of rain. Billions of them! As the guests returned to the marquee in the garden they had to jump over a fast flowing river which had appeared in the road right at the gate of Lucy's parents home... this was intense rain! A guest kindly ran into the house and offered the photographer Martin Beddall and I a bath towel to dry off.. When the bridal car appeared I expected to see Lucy and Lee looking dejected, as many couples would have been but what did I see? Two very happy people absolutely beaming from ear to ear as they'd just become husband and wife. Now THAT, is love! The rain soon got bored and left us alone, resulting in some beautiful late afternoon and early evening photo opportunities which everybody made the most of.
As with any wet wedding, it causes logistical problems and more serious in many cases, it causes hair problems... but it never sours the memory of the best day of your lives.
Enjoy!
